Pupil Leadership
A new pupil leadership vision was launched in Summer 2023 that offers opportunities across all year groups, and we encourage and welcome applications from all pupils as appropriate to the role.
All Year 8 pupils are provided with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience as pupil helpers in Year 8.We have appointed five Head Pupils-Eleanor, Oliver and Harman from Year 11 and Jack and Saffia from Year 13. They fulfil several important roles, including speaking at and supporting key events, but their key role is chairing the Pupil Council.
The Pupil Council is comprised of 2 pupil representatives from each year group, who are democratically elected by their peers at the start of the year. Members of the Pupil Council represents the collective pupil voice of the school, and are responsible for gathering feedback from each year group on school proposals, issues and policies; meeting regularly and feeding back to the Senior Leadership Team.
We also provide the opportunity for Year 9 and 11 pupils to apply for the role of prefects. There is a trained team of 30 in each year group, whose roles include supporting parent tours and important events, and carrying out daily operational duties to support the running of the school.
We will also be appointing teams of ambassadors covering areas and issues such as anti-bullying, mental health, the environment, fundraising and sport. They will be responsible for leading campaigns and raising awareness in these areas, and pupils can apply from across the year groups.
