GCSE Results 2024

Wanstead High School are delighted to announce an amazing set of results for this brilliant Year 11 cohort who have worked so hard to triumph over the odds. Amongst a huge number of outstanding outcomes in terms of progress and attainment, well above the national in all key areas, including 31% of grades at 9-7, many pupils are celebrating outstanding academic results.

Pablo Nunes and Anna Frost achieved an amazing 10 grade 9s and Elliot Fearn 9 grades 9s and a grade 8. Maya Elton received 8 grade 9s and 1 grade 8 and Cole Nagle 7 9s. They are all delighted, and we hope they have great celebrations and look forward to them joining us in the Sixth Form. Eleanor Clough, who got 1 9, 3 8s and 3 7s summed up the mood when she cried, ‘We did it!’ Ms Hillman, Headteacher and Ms White, Head of Year are overjoyed and proud beyond belief. The joy is evident in the faces of Santiago Chaves and Persis Adu celebrating their top grades, including a clutch of 8s and 9s.

Excellent results are being celebrated at Wanstead High School this morning, with two pupils securing their places at Oxford and Cambridge Universities. Samuel Bevins was delighted to receive an A* in Maths and an A in Further Maths, Physics and History and will be reading Earth Sciences at Oxford and Hana Nakabun was over the moon with A*s in Psychology and Japanese, an A in Music and a B in English and will be studying Education at Cambridge.

Emma Hillman, Headteacher said ‘we are so proud of our pupils and their hard work and commitment’. Eleni Bray, Head of Sixth Form, was ‘privileged to share this special day with such an amazing bunch of young people’.   Some of our amazing outcomes and destinations also include:

• Iris Rimmer – A* in Art and Bs in History and English – 38University of Bristol to read History of Art.
• Finn Barry – A* in Maths, A In Further Maths and B in Music – University of Bath to read Maths, Statistics and Data Sciences.
• Charlotte Smith – A In English and Psychology and B in Biology – University of York to read Psychology.
• Imaan Ahmed – B in Economics and Religion and Philosophy and a C in History – UCL to read Education, Society and Culture.
• Jack Homberger – B in History and a C in Drama and Politics – University of Nottingham to study Politics and International Relations.
